It had fallen down the chimney and must have been a bit dazed because I just opened the doors and it waddled out.

I love the idea of change - for the better - I am surprised that my mother, who is also very superstitious, has never mentioned that.alice chttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16969805206040091585noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24776294.post-51974223286178890682010-06-14T13:22:39.007+00:002010-06-14T13:22:39.007+00:00Love this little bird-on-the-pocket. With the warmer weather, and windows and doors open all day, we frequently have swallows flying in and out of the house. Thankfully, they seem to be able to find their way out again quite quickly, but it does give both me and them a bit of a shock to come face to face!Carolynhttp://gasconyfarm.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24776294.post-2195332404142360422010-06-13T00:04:39.005+00:002010-06-13T00:04:39.005+00:00Beautiful applique. I once heard the distinct sound of a bird trapped in our wood burner's chimney pipe. I called the RSPCA but after two hours of no show, punctuated by sad little scratching sounds, my son and a friend happened to arrive home. Summoning miraculous strength they managed to lift the whole pipe upwards, just enough to release the bird - a beautiful, if frightened, Tawny Owl. My cream lampshades still bear the sooty stain of its fractured escape!Georginahttp://rosecolouredworld.wordpress.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-24776294.post-74648900218371815802010-06-12T11:17:18.026+00:002010-06-12T11:17:18.026+00:00Your fabric bird is so lovely.
