a shift begins

Today the wind blows madly, seemingly in every direction, my hair waves crazily on end from side to side.

The door blew right off the Post Office collection depot.

So they would not let me collect my item, apparently a missing door is a health and safety issue.

I felt cross, a twelve mile round trip wasted, but my mood was quickly whipped away by those roaring winds.

For it may be stormy but temperatures are up. Sure, those Easterly winds bite a bit but I can see green shoots in the garden. I have been monitoring their progress from the kitchen window, I am watching as each day they grow taller and fatter, those yellow daffodil flowers swelling inside their green cocoons.

Hand in hand with the lengthening days they give me hope and cheer my heart.

And a rather good lemon cookie always helps of course.

It certainly has been blustery today. The wind blew my car off course by a good 2-3 feet on the way to town today. Rather disconcerting!

Pah to the Post Office. I would imagine the most dangerous part of the door blowing away was when it was actually happening, rather than after the event when the danger of being hit by a low flying door must be quite slim. I had not previously appreciated the danger of an open gap. No doubt you were relieved to be kept at a safe distance from such a dangerous site!

Now I like the sound of those cookies. What do I have to do to persuade you to part with the recipe?

In Suffolk too, getting a battering tonight. The rabbit's cover just landed in next door's garden, bricks and all. I've turned to wine, biscuits would have been much much better.
oh! to hang out with you inside... listening to the wind.. eating lemon cookies... drinking coffee... knitting... well, THAT sounds like fun on a windy day! :)

stay safe!

Oh, those look delicious. No signs of spring in our neck-of-the-woods, we are buried deep in snow!

There is nothing like a daffodil peeking up through the cold dirt to lift the heart and cheer the spirit. Lemon cookies look delicious too : )!!

Lemon cookies are always a good idea....actually, anything lemon related is a good idea. We are in for a doozy of a storm this afternoon. We are expecting a foot of snow, blowing wind. I am off to the bakery before this happens.
Mmmmmm, lemon cookies! I have to go and pick up a parcel of quilting cotton tomorrow. I hope that I have an easier trip than you, poor thing. Laura x

I knew lemon would make an appearance on your blog one of these days! Been windy here too, it finally calmed down yesterday with a gorgeously sunny day. Now we're back to grey and gloomy.
