Isn't it lovely...

That both children are learning to play brass instruments.

At least that is what I keep telling myself.

Maybe some ear defenders should go on the Christmas list??! Can't wait to see your newly knitted shawl, and can't believe you had the time to knit that as well as make all the other things you've been posting! x

Definitely better to have both playing brass than to have one on brass and the other on violin!

I finally made the apple cake today, it was huge! Tasty too.

My sympathies -- my girls play trumpet and bassoon, so I have some fair idea of what it sounds like at your house! Bassoon, even played well, sounds like a lonesome moose, looking for love in all the wrong places... And then, some days, they also play alto sax and fluegelhorn. I actually quite like the fluegelhorn.

Is it odd that my elder daughter named her trumpet and fluegelhorn after the Weasley twins (Fred and George)?

Lovely indeed. Even lovelier than my next door neighbour's 10-year old who plays the same Scott Joplin rag with...er... attack.... on either piano or flute. At 8 in the morning.

ha ha! We had flute and trumpet in our house. I'm quite sad that as adults they have given up their instruments.

It's better than the violin or the amplified electric guitar!

I thank my lucky stars every day for a drum kit with headphones.
The little one starts the dulcimer next week. I don't think it's too noisy....

It gets lovelier, I assure you! My son (trombone) and daughter (violin) are a treat to listen to these days.
My son plays the baritone, so I know what you mean. Thank goodness, he mostly practices in school these days :) But it all pays off when they play all together in the band, then they really make music :)
