Sunday lunch

Lunch for twelve rapidly reduced to just the four of us, it is the season of germs and ailments after all.

Not the end of the world, same components, less potatoes to peel and less washing up.

And we still laid the silver and lit the candles.

Early candles are one of November's most redeeming qualities. The soft, warm glow instantly transforms the greyest of days. Moods immediately lifted from claustrophobic gloom to cosy comfort.

Favourite ideas for left over roast pork gratefully received.

Well cold slices of pork with a very buttery baked potato and some coleslaw on the side comes pretty high up my list. Simple and delicious (also tres tres nostalgic of my childhood).

A very pretty table. Left over pork? Fresh bread, thickly buttered, salted slightly and a slice or more of pork. Served with pickle of your choice.

Your table looks so inviting - need to light candles tonight.

Turn it into pulled pork sandwiches. Or Boston Baked Beans. Or use in Chinese red pork style stir fry.

Pork curry was a favourite Monday staple growing up, and one that I've managed to persuade my family is a good idea. I'm a veggie these days mind and eat mine without the pork.
Lovely candles, just looking at the pictures of them is somehow soothing.

Hopefully you have some stuffing and apple sauce left too to make a hog roast bap. (off to drool at the thought of it now!)

Definitely cold roast pork and stuffing in a nice floury roll.... The simple things taste best!
How civilised. Definitely with all the pulled pork sandwich brigade.

Definitely pulled pork or asian something too. Gorgeous setting regardless of ###'s :)

Rebecca, you really know how to set a pretty table. Pork? I would make something Mexican like spicy shredded pork carnitas smothered with pepper jack cheese and sour cream, and sprinkled with onions and jalapeno peppers and then folded into a warm enchilada. And now I've made myself quite hungry!
