Suitable attire

I give you evidence, if it were needed, that one should never garden in a favourite sequinned skirt, not matter how lovely it looks with ones new rubber boots. Heed my warning, swirly skirts and thorny roses are not meant to be.

My One Skein Exchange package is ready to go, I made the little felted clutch bag from the book and added a little felted adornment. I used Debbie Bliss Maya and accidently washed at 60 rather than 40 so it is very felted, but, I think, rather cute nonetheless.

Those are great boots! Too bad about the skirt, though. That quilt show looks like it was amazing!

The clutch is so sweet! If I was a clutch carrying kind of girl, I would make one myself :0)

Ooh dear - how does Sarah Raven get away with gardening in skirts?? Its tempting, and silk is very practical (lol!!)but I defy Trinny and Suzannah in painter's dungarees!

Oh no - your poor skirt. It's just the sort of thing I would go and do though and end up wishing I hadn't and my husband telling me it was a silly thing to do which is just soooo helpful after the event!

Oh that must be so annoying about the skirt - the boots are pretty though.

PS Thanks for commenting on my blog - I've enjoyed reading what everyone else has been saying about the Festival of Quilts.

Fab boots and skirt. Oh well, perhaps it can officially be The Gardening Skirt from now on. No reason not to.

Too bad about the skirt but then a girl isn't properly dressed in the countryside without her wellies, is she?!

The clutch bag looks sweet - good to know that the Maya felts so well as I have a couple of lonely skeins in search of a project and I actually picked up the One Skein book today...

so sorry about your skirt, but I think you should always garden in it from now on.
