Good Grief, fallen off the blog again! It seems so easy to get out of the habit of something. I realised this week that I have missed my first blog anniversary and it also struck me that as I have been blogging less these last couple of months I have been taking less photographs too. I have really enjoyed blogging for the last year, I like the way it makes me look at the world around me, considering posts and photographs. It seems the blog takes on a life of its own, I began thinking that for me it would be about the writing but actually the writing has been very secondary to the crafting. This little community of crafters has given me the confidence to try so many new things, my sewing machine has received a reprieve from its dark cupboard and now spends most days ready and waiting on the dining room table.

To mark my Bloggiversary I offer a prize draw. All you have to do is leave a comment on this post and I will put all the names in a hat of Wednesday, the first name drawn will receive a brooch like the one in the picture above. I know it is a little corny but I just love when other people do this and I really appreciate that people take the time to comment, it is part of what makes this community so lovely.

I have decided to make a pledge to post more often, for the next month anyway, to see how it goes. It is said that it takes 30 days to form a habit so a month should be enough to get me back into the swing. I continue to be frustrated by blogger's shortcomings in the comment side of things. It is so much easier to reply when I can just click the link provided in the email and such a shame when blogger does not supply any contact information at all. I know I should stop moaning about this and just move elsewhere but I just want to say that if anyone has asked a specific question and not heard from me then please email me directly and I will endeavour to respond. Of course more frequent posting will mean that not all posts will be craft related and I do hope this will not put you off reading!

Now for today I am off to seam, seam and seam. The sun is shining, a perfect Spring day and I think I will take my work basket to the garden. No roast to cook today, we have been invited to friends for dinner. There is bread rising in the kitchen, the laundry is under control, a Power Ranger and a Super Fairy are taking care of things in the garden and The Technical Advisor is spending the day hanging on the end of the telephone/web trying to buy Glastonbury tickets.

Hi! I read your blog regularly-love it's crisp layout. Living on an island in the middle of the Atlantic can be a bit isolated, but the blog-world helps me to keep in tune a bit. Carry on the good work for another year! Sue.
I enjoyed reading this post so much. I think it's because so much of it rings true for me at the moment. I also started the blog because of the writing but it's the community of crafters-knitters-bloggers that keeps me going. Happy Blogiversary! And best wishes on your blogging pledge, I'll be there!

Happy Blogiversary! I love your posts and am always inspired by your latest projects. I also wanted to tell you that I was able to buy the Meathead pattern, and it was oh-so-much fun to make.

Happy Blogversary and having the laundry under control is a great achievement, well for me anyway!
Look forward to more posts in the coming year. Pretty brooch too.

Happy blogiversary! Haloscan works really well for comments (it requests email addresses from all commenters) and it's heaps easy to install in blogger (though it makes your old blogger comments invisible - they don't go away, they're just invisible). I recommend it! www.haloscan.com

Happy blogiversary! I am secretly rather wedded to the sleuthing required to reply to a comment on blogger! The thrill of the chase and all.

Good Luck with the Glastonbury tickets ! And congratulations on your blogiversary! Getting my laundry under control now too - School holidays and Spring weather help.
Love the crafting (what a cute brooch) aswell as the knitting (sitting here knitting a sock - thats the great thing about blogging, multitasking!)

Happy Blogiversary - I am new to this blogging process but i started because I had been inspired by so many other people's blogs and by the little glimpses into their lives that they give to us all that i thought it only fair to share a moment or two in mine!!

Look forward to your future posts!

I'll play! Happy blogiversary! I don't know how many of my own blogiversaries I've missed; I've been blogging off and on for years, over several different systems... I've recently moved to TypePad, and I'm not sorry - though there are a few Blogger things I miss (being able to place photos *centrally* - silly, I know, but it bugs me!)

Happy blog fest. I love reading your stuff and can wait a couple of weeks it you dont get around to posting. As for commenting back to people I comment back on my blog if people ask me something. Would this help you?

Hi, I enjoy reading your blog; first time commenting though; I've been thinking about starting a blog myself but have some kind of block! Any suggestions? I live in Virginia, US, and visited Wales 10 years ago; thought it a very beautiful place and would love to visit again.

I am absolutely with you thinking about how nice it would be if Blogger would let us reply to comments by email. This must be a kind of heaven! But now, before going too deep into the misbehavings of Blogger, I want to say Happy Blogiversary to you and your lovely blog. It´s hard to believe that it´s "only" one year old because I enjoy it so much and am always looking for new posts, love to read in the archives, look at your great pictures and admire your craft, and so you and your blog are belonging to my blogworld so much that it seems to me we are connected already for ages. And not-craft-related sounds very good. I always love the little glances into or better say behind the blogs. I am so much looking forward your next year!

Oh did I miss it, I swear I checked this am and there wasn't a new post. No matter if I did I just want to leave a msg that I like reading your blog. The most difficult thing for me has been the writing just because I feel like I'm exposing myself somewhat. But in the end I believe it will be good for me.

Did you get tickets for Glasto? I love the atmosphere at music festivals :)

I always enjoy reading your blog as your words are always as wonderful as your photo's and crafty items.

Take care

I think you update your blog on a very frequent basis. I always look forward to the next instalment, I found your very first posting just after you had started and have enjoyed it ever since : there is an odd side to the whole blog thing though - one almost feels like a voyeur into other people's lives!! Happy blogversary - cheers Sarah

I've been stalking your blog for a while and love looking at the photos of your projects (especially the bags with felt flowers on and Rowan Betty which you've inspired me to try). Here's looking forwards to another year of the blog.

I am always amazed by the bloggers that are able to post every day. I aim for more than once a week, but even that doesn't always happen, life can just get so busy! :0) I love reading what you have to say, though.

Happy Blogiversary!

Happy Blog birthday!

I am so glad you started blogging because you have quickly become one of my favourite reads. (Even though I am rather behind in my reading at the moment).

As far as blogging goes...I've always used typepad and have been more than happy with it. Even when I have had a problem or a question their help desk has been extremely quick to respond.

oh go on then...I'll leave a comment! I always read your blog anyway and I did notice you left a comment on my daughter's blog about big/little boobs!

Sure is great weather for the kids - and the grown-ups. That brooch looks great - how about a wee tutorial for those amognst us (like me!) who are very challenged in the sewing dept?

Happy blogiversary!
I find blogging frequency runs in cycles, like life. I enjoy reading whenever you post. Just have fun with it, it's not supposed to be another obligation.
It's nice to see it's spring somewhere, we are getting a blustery payback for the warm December we had and are still waiting (impatiently) for things to really warm up.
