Habu Happy

Habu Happy, Happy Habu, sounds like some sort of special day, do you think? Some of you may know that I have been coveting Habu for some time. I think my first introduction was perhaps via Nora, I know that wherever I first saw it, I immediately began googling obsessively. The more I saw, the more I desired, stockists over here are few and far between but eventually I ordered a skein of Stainless Steel Silk from K1 yarns (and this l
ovely pattern, which has been added to my "must make pile"). The yarn arrived, I gazed, I stroked, I stalked the internet once more and eventually decided to order a bit more........ I ordered from Purl, such a great service, arrived in less than a week.

I am still doing a lot of gazing and stroking, this stuff is so pretty and I am nurturing a new obsession for concerning Habu, it js centred around these SKIF patterns. Of course there is also this gorgeous jacket and indeed at least a dozen others.

In the mean time, I have started on a Kusha Kusha scarf, pattern available here. My, this is strange stuff to knit with, but so much fun. I keep pulling and twisting at the strange fabric created, it is so very strange to me. Stocking stitch scarves normally bore me silly after the first few centimetres but the fascination of this keeps me going.

Your pictures are beautiful. I'm convinced that Habu is actually a cult, and I fear we've lost another one. ;)

How strange that you should post this today as I have spent the last hour trying to find a stockist with a bit more variety of Habu here. I am going to go to Purl I think! Another Habu scarf calls me and I think I will go for the stainless steel yarn mix this time.

I learn so much from my blog friends. I had never heard of Habu yarns. I love the coloways you've chosen.

Very seductive! Just this evening a non-knitter friend emailed me to ask for details of Habu yarn. It looks so good I want to have a go!
(Love your Hourglass sweater, by the way).

I have never heard of Habu... these yarns (?) are beautiful!!
Gorgeous. But how on earth did you ever choose what to buy? And how on earth will you ever choose what to make? It's all so beautiful!

I too have never heard of Habu - it looks very interesting, but I am not sure I understand it! I look forward to being educated (and delighted as usual!)

My knitting pal Kimberley has some of the lovely Habu courtesy of K1yarns - the sheen is gorgeous. The scarf is looking great - so delicate, but obviously so strong!

Oh the Habu looks and sounds wonderful. The scarf looks quite pretty. Does it feel hard to knit with or does it turn out quite soft.
