a glimpse

Yesterday the sun shone briefly, shafts of light broke through the shadows in the house, they made angles on the walls and lifted my spirits immeasurably.

Today it's back to grey but my heart is still warmed from those moments of light yesterday and I feel impatient for January to make its way out the door. Outside I can see the green shoots of bulbs, daffodils I hope, forcing their way through the damp and muddy ground outside.

I feel filled with hope.

Already shoots of bulbs showing? How fantastically hopefully is that.

Enjoy it my friend!

Yesterday my sunglasses had to be dredged from the bottom of my handbag for a few brief minutes too. Back to cold and grey today. I can feel a shift in more ways than one...

At least when you boot January out the door you can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Some of us have another month just like it riding on it's tails!

Me too! I've just come back from a walk and posted my photos - not as pretty as yours, but with the same sentiment. This is the time of year when we are acutely aware of the tiny signs that tell us things are going to get better.

I am too filled with hope. I hope that when I get home there will be fresh baking to be filled with.

One can always hope...

Lovely pictures, I am hopeful for spring now too. I went hunting for Cammelias today but none out in the garden yet.

How I wish this long winter comes to an end soon, but here it is still snowing and no green shoots in sight.

Thank goodness for the occasional glimmer of light that promises us that somewhere out there the sun is, indeed, still shining!
