Guilty, gleeful pleasures

I have a few. I keep a jar of Green & Black's chocolate spread hidden in the pantry and I spoon it out, straight into my mouth, when in need. I do not share this jar, it's just for me and it is an ever so slightly disgusting habit for which I would most certainly reprimand any other member of the household caught doing the same.

I sometimes sip a glass of wine whilst cooking Sunday lunch, it feels so very early in the day to be drinking and it feels ever so slightly naughty, it gives me huge pleasure.

But my current greatest guilty pleasure is Glee. I love it, the Technical Advisor and I have both been watching the show avidly, we are a little ashamed, indeed, The Technical Advisor claims he is merely keeping me company. We know we should not be enjoying it quite as much as we do, we know this is not the sort of television that will raise our intelligence at all.

I am afraid we like it so much that we even bought the soundtrack. Whilst cooking that Sunday lunch, I am sipping my wine and singing as loudly as I can to "I bust the windows of your car". I stir the gravy while getting on down to the, couldn't be more camp if it tried, cast version of "Gold-digger". I fill my lungs with air ready to diva out to "Defying Gravity".

Feel free to shake your head in despair at my my bad taste.

I share one of your three guilty pleasures. See if you can guess which one ...

Guilty pleasures are what make life worth living! Much better than innocent ones...

I too partake in the Very Early Wine on Sunday activity. Only thing is, then I can't look forward to it at about 8 in the evening, because I've already indulged!

I like your sewing.

Good to see you're still around! Your blog is lovely.

I think we all have our secret (and not-so-secret) guilty pleasures. I *ahem* have been known to scoop hot fudge directly out of the jar into my mouth...

I love your tea cosies so much!

I've only heard great things about this show. I must get caught up online. Is that chocolate spread like "Nutella"?

Oh, I love this post. My guilty pleasure is eating cold pizza. In fact, I am enjoying a slice right now for my lunch.
I am low-carbing at the moment so guilty pleasures are hard to achieve! Peanut Butter is as close as it gets, and as DH is currently convalescing in front of an Elvis Concert on TV, I am proceeding with caution!
As for Glee!!!! I want to be Sue Sylvester, and if I can't be her I want to be Kurt! That DH totally doesn't get it adds to the pleasure!

Hahaha! Everyone needs a little guilty pleasure or three. That chocolate spread would certainly do it for me -- only I don't like that hazelnut flavor -- Nutella does the same thing -- what is it with chocolate and hazelnuts. Chocolate and Almonds would be more my speed!

Glee is one of my favourites, too! I can't hear the "Put a Ring on It" song without seeing a bunch of football players dance around a field in my head. No Air, too, is lovely... :o)

I would certainly be shaking my head in despair and disgust if I were not prone to my own guilty pleasures, namely, grabbing chocolate chips directly from the 3 lb bag my cocoa-dealing husband purchases for me in bulk. His excuse is that the woman must be appeased at any cost.

How could you do that to me ?!!
I clicked to the Glee site and am now , having seen a couple of videos , looking for my next fix .
I'll have to hunt on Dutch and Belgian television and find it . Then I can make a huge bowl of salty popcorn and indulge .
Preferably before husband comes home and has me committed .

Approvingly your article helped me truly much in my college assignment. Hats off to you enter, will look audacious in the direction of more cognate articles soon as its one of my favourite issue to read.
Oh dear. I too have a soft spot for Glee. I have to wait for my other half to be out for I can't face the scorn...ssshh!!!! ;)

Love Glee, we sang along to the soundtrack as we cooked Christmas lunch! Also like a glass of wine while I cook, but only if I can have a nap after lunch...

I have just caught up on reading all of your lovely blog posts so thought I would leave you a comment to say how much I have enjoyed reading them all. I am glad that you are settled after all your traumas. Love the posts about making bread particularly - I bake quite a bit but have not really got into making bread but must do.
Guilty pleasures - sitting down with a glass (or two) of red wine of an evening with some knitting or stitching.I am not really a huge fan of chocolate in any form but cheese however....

Guilty pleasures are one of the benefits of being an adult - no one to tell you off!
I have to confess to not knowing of this guilty pleasure called 'Glee' but big thumbs up for the pot of chocolate spread - it's like drinking juice straight from the carton...in our house any way!

I have just had a flashback to the period of our life when 'Flying Doctors' was required viewing. It was MrM's fault - that is my story and I am sticking to it.

I wouldn't spoon the chocolate, but everything else I am with you over. I love glee I watch it with my eldest daughter and my husband. you may think it is sad but it will win you brownie points with all teenagers!

How shocking. How can I possibly go on following a woman who spoons chocolate spread out of the jar? This country is going to the dogs.

PS Especially as chocolate spread doesn't flow easily off the spoon, which means the spoon must be kept in the mouth, with accompanying Mmmmmm sound, in an undignified way, for quite a while.....
My own not-so-guilty pleasure is that I have a lovely little tea cosy that is eerily similar to those photos! And I really love it!
you are so awesome.
and sipping that wine while making lunch is such a fun idea! :)

so... what is that adorable thing you made?!!

Glee? Tick - almost as good as Dawson's Creek. Guilty wine - have one now. G & B chocolate spread? I had no clue such a thing existed. I must remedy this situation immediately.
