Turn that frown upside down

I have an irritating habit of enforcing jolliness and happiness upon my children when they are grumpy or sad. I try to buoy them up, I tell them that putting on a smile or thinking happy thoughts will work wonders at improving their mood.

Mostly they ignore me but sometimes it works.

It's advice that I would do well to take heed of at the moment for I have much on my plate, my shoulders weigh heavy and my heart feels sad. I don't think I can do anything much about the concerns that keep me awake at night, the worries that feel like I'm walking up hill with a rucksack full of rocks. They are things that must simply play their own way out.

But perhaps I could take a spoonful of my own medicine and put on a happy face for it surely does feel better to smile a little.

And maybe I need to return to working on this blanket, colours like this surely must be mood enhancing.

A new ripple blanket, much longed for, the old ripple is a family favourite. This time the colours are a little perkier, a good deal brighter and the sequence somewhat more thought about than that of the previous blanket.

Sending happy thoughts and hope it helps... hope the problems sort themselves out too. Your blanket is just about the jolliest I've seen... such joyous colours.

I hope you do manage to lift yourself out of the doldrums - it's never good when mums are feeling sad :-(

Such a jolly ripple though!
The ripple is lovely and certainly a mood enhancer - very cheery and colourful.

I do hope the weight lifts from your shoulders soon.

take care and happy rippling!

Sometimes waiting for a feeling to pass can be the very hardest thing. Hope something comes along to break the mood soon.

I'm sure colour helps - I find it impossible to be truly sad while wearing orange.
And what fun to have a new one in bright colors!

I hope that your worries ease soon. A work friend tell me that the solar eclipse put us in a very bad phase. It is especially worrisome for Pisces and Virgo - great... No wonder I've had butterflies for weeks. Dare I tell you that I am beginning to admire the crochet more and more?

bright colours have a way of cheering one up, perfect for lifting off the weight of worries. Picking up a lingering project will certainly make you feel you're accomplishing something while not letting worries drags you down. Cheerio!

Sometimes you need to walk in the valley to appreciate the view from the top of the hill. At least you will have a fab blanket to sit on when you get there.

Sometimes its just fine for adults to feel their emotions as well... It looks like a beautiful blanket, and hope that crocheting it helps you through the tough times.

I'm sorry to hear that things are tough at the moment. I sure hope that the situation improves and that brighter days are on their way.

In the meantime, I do believe in the power of positivity. Any little bit of cheerfulness helps (esp. when it comes in cheery, yummy fibre).

Oh no. Its horrid to feel so sad and worried. I hope it sorts itself out. Th eblanket is lovely and I think that you must go and get a copy of the latest Rowan mag. The colours and patterns in there are wonderful and will cheer you up.
