Rhyme it

Tilly's school are celebrating Book Week once again, it really doesn't seem like a year since this last came around.

This year's theme was Nursery Rhymes or just clothes that rhyme. Tilly set her heart on Little Bo Peep and naturally I waited until the last possible moment before attempting to pull together a costume. But we managed it with the aid of some old pillowcases and the rather fabulous Angry Chicken Bonnet Pattern.

I did so love sewing the bonnet, it very much satisfies that whole Little House in the Prairie side of me. The pattern is graded up to adult and I am trying to stop myself but it may be hopeless, I am pretty sure that The Technical Advisor may come home one day this week to find me in the kitchen wearing a bonnet and a pinafore, and not in a saucy sort of way. Which reminds me, think twice before Googling Little Bo Peep.....

Ha! Very cute!!! I know what you mean about embracing the Little House side... if only I could be Caroline and wear big swishy skirts and cute bonnets. Your daughter is always gorgeous!

One side of me is ooh-ing and aah-ing over this absolutely adorable costume. The other side is splitting with laughter over the visions of what could come up when googling LBP. I don't want to know. Please post a picture when you take to wearing the bonnet : ).

OMG! I was reading your post to MY Technical Advisor, and we both laughed out loud. Of course, he now wants me to Google "Bo Peep." Love Tilly in all assorted costumery. She is a natural model

Was laughing out loud at you getting dressed up in a bonnet - I know what you mean - I wish I could get dressed like the people in Little House on the Prairie. I've read the entire series several times over and still enjoy it.
Tilly looks lovely in that 'cobbled together' costume!

Oh I've been wanting to make that bonnet pattern ever since Amy first published it! But just can't think where I'd wear it. Perhaps we need to organize some sort of event at the allotments...hmmm!

Oh that is so cute!I bet she will be one of the best dressed! So funny imagining you in a bonnet going about your day, maybe it would set a new trend!

I'm laughing about the Google search - a colleague of mine was recently invited to a James Bond party and made this elementary mistake of typing "Pussy Galore" into the search engine!
