The marching of time

Over a week has gone by since my last post, I did not mean for the time to go by so fast, but it did.

Twelve years went by just as quickly.

In the blink of an eye.

How can it be that he no longer crawls into my lap and falls asleep,
Or makes those baby gurgles and giggles?
Why am I no longer the very centre of his world,
why does he no longer like to have raspberries blown upon his tummy?

Where did that chubby tummy go?

This tall and lanky gorgeous boy of mine has just turned 12 years old, he makes me laugh, he makes me mad, he educates me, he makes me whole. Happy Birthday Dylan.

Soon, soon, he'll be wearing one of those mustaches for real :)

Treasure each moment as it comes. I do love my adult boys now--they're so...grown up.

Happy Birthday Dylan :)

Enjoy every day of their childhoods ... they are over so very quickly. My youngest has turned 20, but the long ago days of raspberry blowing on his tum still feel like yesterday. It's an odd thing, time!
Gosh, you brought a tear to my eye! Wise words. You reminded me that i am so lucky to have a 4 year old and a 1 year old (even if they drive me crazy half the time!) - the whole adolescent thing fills me with trepidation! I will be thinking of your words over the next few weeks of summer hols when my temper is frayed. Dylan looks gorgeous. Congratulations. xxx

My son will be 33 next month, but he is still my baby ...... although I don't think he would appreciate rasberries on his tummy these days!

Happy Birthday, Dylan!
They do grow way too fast. It's something you often hear but don't believe when they are babies and you are exhausted but it's too true.

O but Rebecca, doesn't it just get better and better? You think it can't get any better than it is now and then you notice they've grown up a bit more and are even more fun than they were before. I love it.
Happy birthday Dylan!

My two youngest turned 13 last week and when I referred to them as my babies they pointed out they were no longer babies. I replied they all would always be my babies. One of them thought for a moment and then asked if I was Grandma's baby. I replied, Oh yes and always will be.

What a sweet post. Happy Birthday Dylan! Just wait until he brings a girl home -- that's the real heartbreaker -- even when you love her a LOT!

Wait until he's 21 - that really makes the heart ache! My baby is 12, and I agree, it just goes in a trice - the good things is that the children really do become even more your friends as they get older, but losing those cuddly little babies is so sad . . .

Love the Atishoo! case - it came in very handy last week, for reasons I will not go into!

I love that top mustache photo! Happy Birthday
